Parent Information:
Dear Parents: We want camp to be fun, fun, fun for your child.
So PLEASE make us aware of any sensory, social, physical, emotional needs your child may have. Please let us know of any special communication needs of your child prior to the start of camp (such as picture schedules, snack or choice boards, or use of sign-language). Please contact your camp counselor or camp director with any questions or concerns.
A CONTACT phone number must be provided daily to us at drop-off. We will also have a phone number of our staff that you may have during camp hours so you would be able to contact us; however, this is only for emergencies.
Camp will be held daily at New Covenant Church for all camps Adventure Camp, Exploration Camp and Wilderness Camp. Camp is from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Sleep over on 8/2 for campers twelve and up is at Camp New Life.
- All campers must be signed in each morning. Camp hours are 8:30 to 2:30, if you need an early drop off or late pick-up you MUST make arrangements with the Camp Director prior to the start of camp. Parents and family members (siblings) are encouraged to volunteer. Parents and family members will join us on Friday for our Family Day Picnic, talent show, and awards ceremony.
- Campers will be assigned to a group counselor and 1:1 peer support “buddy” for the week. Please check with your counselor daily if you have any questions about your child’s day or concerns.
- Campers should bring a bag lunch with a drink daily (no refrigeration is available for lunches; only for medication if needed). Water is available throughout the day with a light am snack provided.
- A special area will be set up for toileting and changing needs. Please send a change of clothes daily in your child’s backpack. We do have “adult” size diapers and baby wipes available if needed.
- Please notify the camp nurse during the first day (during sign-in) of ANY MEDICAL needs of your child. Please leave seizure protocol and bee-sting kits with our camp nurse.
- Apply sunscreen at home daily and send a container labeled for afternoon “water” activities and on pool day. We will be OUTSIDE, so please dress in play clothes with good coverage and don’t forget the sun hat!
- All clothes and personal items should be labeled with your child’s name and sent in a backpack. We store all your child’s items in a marked area. Please send a change of clothes, a towel and swim suit daily. We will be going on a field trip to the pool on Wednesday but we participate in water activities every sunny and warm afternoon.
- We will be going on “bug-hunts”, nature walks, and bird watching activities so please send bug spray if your child is sensitive to bug bites. Please check for ticks daily since the game field has some high grass areas.
- We encourage tennis shoes (shoes with closed toes). Flip flops are not encouraged for safety reasons but can be worn to the pool and for water activities.
- Any questions, call Diane Gayer, Camp Director at 235-8853 (h) or 226-5572 (c)
